The Australian Open is a tennis tournament held annually at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The troika of Grand Slam winners will be joined by another former winner at the Melbourne Park with Caroline Wozniacki awarded one of the first wild cards for the 2024 Australian Open. However, former Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios and 2021 US Open winner Emma Raducanu are among the notable absentees from the list.

2024 Australian Open Schedule of Play :

The Australian Open 2024 is an exciting three-week tennis and entertainment extravaganza at Melbourne Park in January. It kicks off on January 8 with the first qualifying matches and concludes on January 28 with the men’s singles final at Rod Laver Arena. Fans can enjoy a fantastic lineup of events during the first Grand Slam of the year.

The four-day qualifying matches reach an exciting peak on Thursday, January 11, as players compete in the final round to secure a spot in the main draw of Australian Open 2024.

From January 8 to 11, there will be practice matches featuring well-known players. The public can come to Rod Laver Arena and watch these matches from 12-4 pm each day.

 Australian Open main-draw action kicks off on Sunday 14 January – the first Sunday start in the tournament’s storied history.

The first-round singles matches will take place over three days, from January 14 to 16. The second-round matches start on January 17, which is also the day when the Australian Open celebrates First Nations Day, honoring the world’s longest continuing living culture.

In addition to the singles matches, there will be doubles tournaments for both men and women starting on January 16. Mixed doubles begin on January 18, followed by junior singles action on January 20.

Preceding this marquee match are the junior singles finals, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day’s proceedings. The action continues with the men’s doubles final, ensuring a thrilling conclusion to an eventful day of tennis.

Trophies :

The names of the tournament winners are inscribed on the perpetual trophy cups. In 2013 ABC Bullion, a Pallion company, was awarded the rights to make the Cups. The cups are produced by W.J. Sanders a sister division within Pallion and takes over 250 hours to produce.
